My Holidays

I woke up in the morning feeling happy because I knew for the next two weeks I will be on holiday from school.

I wanted to have fun by going to see my friends.

First I went to the movies with my mum. We watched Despicable me 2.

The fun part of my holidays was going to the movies. Next holidays, I will go to Rainbows End.

Museum Trip

At the museum it was so interesting looking at the World War 1 display.I was with Miss Atuahiva and we walked around to see the different displays. The thing I mostly enjoyed was the weird and wonderful exhibition. The cockroaches from the U.S.A were creepy and big. They made my skin get covered with goosebumps. DISGUSTING! I had a lot of fun at the museum. I can't wait until we go again!

Fisheries In NZ we have fishing rules so that people only take what they need. Supermarkets rely on commercial fishing to supply their  stores.Recreational fishers can only take what they catch depending if the fish is the legal size. The minimum size fish we are allowed to catch is from 25cm to 40 cm of different types of fish.People  must check what the rules area for the area they want to fish in. People who break these rules are called poachers.Poachers who steal fish threaten the fishing industry. When poachers take more fish than they need there will not be enough fish to go around, this is why we have fishing rules in NZ..

Tuesday 27 May 2014

On Monday 26th of May rooms 9 and 10 went on a trip to Long Bay Regional Park, to learn about living creatures in rock pools. We assembled  under the shelter, and went with our guide for the day.
Each group was given a white tray to collect whatever we found in the rockpools. Salelei found a cushion starfish and crabs. I found a spiral starfish, it was cool. The wind blew sand into my face, as I walked back to the shelter. A dead jellyfish  lay dead on the sand. It was white and rubbery. It was a awesome day, and I was tired.

Hi there everyone,
Read this cool book on sunshine online, about two bear cubs. Two bear cubs are born in a cave. They play games together, and are taught how to hunt by their Mother. They find a new den and go to sleep for the winter.

The wonder hoop - a explanation

The wonder hoop is a basketball that is attached to a basketball hoop which is screwed onto a white wooden board.
It is used for good students who complete all their school work and students who work hard and help people.
Each student is given a piece of paper to write their name on, which is then put into the hoop.
Every Friday Mrs Parker will pick five names from the hoop, and students are given a prize. Prizes consist of mini chocolate bars, oreos and party poppers.

When I won the wonder hoop I felt happy and excited.

Water Fun day

On the 7 of February
from 9 o'clock to ll.

The first activity Kauri and kowhai went to was the obstacle course. They first had to fill a cup full of water cover the top with their hand to prevent the water from tipping out,Crawl under a bench, then rush to the coloured buckets and back. Mrs Tofa blew the whistle signaling us to move onto the next activity. Rata, Kauri, Nikau and Kowhai walked up the hill, towards Mrs Parker who’s  activity was the Water Slide, Members of Rata and Nikau slid down the water slide first with another cup of water to pour into the coloured bucket. After the water slide , They moved onto the Zig - Zag race, then the sponge activity. The title of activities were explained perfectly so theres no need for explaining. Through the legs was the next activity. All you needed to was to put the sponge in the bucket of water and run it through your legs to the coloured bucket, then the person who had the sponge last goes to the front of the row. All four groups finally reached their last activity which was walk the plank. Its similar to the obstacle course, but instead of crawling under it you walk over it.
